If you buy a PS4 today so you should try to get hold of the model named CUH 1216th It is the newest revision. It has absolutely the most pleasant fan profile and even some small details that make the best so far in my eyes (click buttons ist touch, matte finish throughout ist blank on some, less LED). One should not buy a modern game console and expect it to be silent, for it is not a realistic expectation. The optical reader is incidentally what sounds absolutely the most on the PS4, and is used primarily during installation and game start. Film bluray I have not tested, so I can not comment on. 1TB edition seems indispensable when everything is installed on the hard drive, even the games that are on the disc. I am very satisfied with this machine and can recommend it.
