Follow up: After scanning for half an hour and had to make manual adjustments each time because the program insists on running a bad auto-correction of excessive contrast, I still tragglat me through dozens of important documents. When I am finished and exit the program - what happens? Well, then I get an error message that the program is completed incorrectly and that Windows tries to solve the problem. Which is impossible, of course. All files are lost, they were never transferred to the hard drive.
This is a software that should be thrown into the nearest volcano, sent into space or used as a deterrent. I really can not recommend this to anyone. Completely very bad. Stay far away, find a manufactured that sends with software that is not hopslängd in a coffee break from work study student's little brother.
The scanner itself is certainly good. Photos and documents scanned quality, but the HP software is probably produced by an American spy organization to simulate heavy mental stress. It drives me crazy.
I want to scan a couple of documents. Stop at the first, select "Scan to File". Yep, no problem. Run started. Oops, no preview? No, it will probably be good anyway. Scans seven sides, ends. Then I see that it only selected one-third of the pages in two cases. Sigh, just to do about it. Click in the preview, it worked. Got up the document in the preview, but for some reason the software point of the program was to lock up every time I tried to change the highlight of what was scanned. Got to move it twenty times, two millimeters at a time.
Get a box asking me to choose between click "scan" or "clear". But the buttons it says "scan" and "close". How do I know that I choose the right?
Click "Close" to get my image to a file, it works. Where can I check that the program chosen the right, after I told it to do it in the preview. Good, then we take the next page. When we start up the program again, since it closed down when I wanted file. Sigh.
Scans the next page as desired, but what the heck ... no preview? I saved the the setting last? I may not see the results if I do not shut down the entire program, which I am forced to do. Then I see that the program chosen the wrong - again. Instead of the entire document has kindly scanned a box in the middle of the page. I wear my short hair and begins again, and again and again.
Do not choose this scanner if you are not a programmer and can cobble together something of their own programs. The program is loosely structured, inconsistent and frustrating. The hardware is certainly okay, but the program puts down the grade tremendously. End result - from four omskannade documents of ten possible to the absolute bottom of the grade ONE. Ideally, I wanted to give it minus points after using the machine on several occasions. This is a disgrace to humanity. I'd rather eat broken glass. Sharpen your, HP.
