Still going strong may be said, if one of the market's first sound card for PCIe. The sound quality over analog is noticeably better than even better older cards like the Audigy 2 ZS, which is impressive considering the price. For digital optical connection, support for Dolby Digital Live is worth the upgrade over a motherboard's digital support, if not the sound most will be used to film where ordinary bitstreaming yet it is ideal. The drivers feel good, it is to be hoped that ASUS continues to support the card for a while.
Update: Driver development has unfortunately ceased. To avoid various small problems I have had to run a driver package as a private person mixed together. Works, but reminds me of Creative again, so ASUS feels on the whole, not much better. Turns still score good because the card was very affordable. Glances at the Sound Blaster Z replacement.
Wonderful sound, useless drivers, and embarrassingly bad software ..
Luckily, the sound is still worth it :)
Been using it for only a few hours but can already say that I am extremely pleased. Even my "budget" Steelseries Siberia V2 headphones feels that much better headphones.
Noticed marked difference on this card compared but my Asus P5Q-E motherboard. Have a friend who has the big brother to this card and noticed no difference.
The card is sick Value!
-Hard to work well with older games
-Extra power supply
+ Not creative
+ Better drivers than creative
